HMB Calcium hydroxy methylbutyrate (HMB) is a normal metabolite of the essential amino acid, leucine. In a series of studies, subjects who engaged in strenuous exercise exhibited improvements in body composition, lean mass, and muscular strength, and exhibited reductions in fat mass and markers of post-exercise muscle damage. These results suggest that HMB supports results of strenuous exercise in both young and long-lived adults for both weightlifting and endurance exercises. |
